Two Logistics-related Funding Schemes to Be Launched on the 8th of Next Month
The Transport and Logistics Bureau announced that the Smart and Green Logistics Professional Training Programme and the Logistics Promotion Funding Scheme, under the Maritime and Aviation Training Fund, will be launched on the 8th of next month. These initiatives aim to strengthen talent development and promotional efforts within the logistics industry. Both schemes will accept applications year-round.
The Smart and Green Logistics Professional Training Programme aims to subsidize eligible logistics organizations and training/educational institutions in organizing local training courses related to modern, smart, and green logistics. The goal is to support in-service practitioners in acquiring the latest industry knowledge. The programme will subsidize up to 80% of each participant’s course fee, with a maximum subsidy of HK$6,500 per person.
The Logistics Promotion Funding Scheme, on the other hand, provides funding to eligible logistics-related organizations and professional bodies to organize local promotional projects and events. The scheme can cover up to 100% of the total project cost. Its objectives are to build a new image for the modern logistics industry as "smart, innovative, and high-end," attract more young people to join the sector, and promote Hong Kong’s strengths as an international logistics hub to both local and overseas enterprises.
The Industry Development Committee and the Infrastructure and Promotion Committee under the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council are responsible for vetting and approving applications, as well as monitoring and reviewing the implementation of the schemes. The government will also continue to review the use of the fund and the effectiveness of the schemes to ensure they align with industry development needs.
